This morning, I was up early to handle all business affairs. I met up with my brothers first. There was a building we were building for an afterschool program for the youth. This was my idea. It would be open twenty-four seven, seven days a week. This was something I wanted to build in at least three months so we needed to get on top of it. We met to give the architect the blueprint so he could gather his construction crew up and start the foundation. I was ready to see it built before my own eyes just like the other companies that we had built from the ground up.

I didn’t stick around right after. Kashece and Kash chopped it up in the parking lot as I hopped in my red Lambo. Layton had texted me this seafood restaurant and I was headed to meet her. She only had an hour lunch and I wanted to spend all the time I could getting to know Layton. Before I pulled off, I noticed the worried look Kash’s face held. I would expect a call from him before the night was over.

It took me less than fifteen minutes to pull up to Captain Crab. This was supposedly her favorite place to eat. I ain’t fuck with crawfish but I’d eat the shrimp, potatoes, and corn, so I wasn’t opposed to eating here. Whatever made Layton comfortable and allowed her to let her guard down and maybe open up to me.

Looking around, I didn’t see her car. I cut my engine and stepped out, adjusting myself in my pants. I squinted, knowing damn well this woman ain’t standing my ass up. I just knew she ain’t got me up here looking crazy as hell. Closing the door, I hit the locks and took off towards the entrance. As I got closer, I noticed her car parked closer to the front. Layton was still inside and once she noticed me approaching, she began to roll her windows up then opened the driver’s door.

“Thought you stood me up,” I nervously chuckled.

Layton stepped out and I couldn’t stop myself from licking my lips if I wanted to. She wasn’t dressed up of course due to her working at a daycare, but the gray tights and graphic tee with pink crocks and white socks on her feet didn’t look too bad on her either. I was the one in a suit coming to a seafood restaurant.

“Passing up some food? I almost did, but then I thought about how some crawfish would taste. Don’t worry, they have something you can wear so your clothes won’t get messed up,” Layton smiled.

I chuckled as we began to walk side by side. Pushing my keys in my pocket, I opened the door for Layton.

“Thanks,” she said, tucking a braid behind her ear as she walked inside.

“No problem.”

My eyes flew to her ass and then back up when she spun around. My brows pinched as I attempted to look serious.

“Do you want a booth or table?” she asked me.
